All members involved must agree to a litter before a litter can be requested. Kits can only be born onto the island via litters from already existing characters.[break]

Characters have an individual requirement of needing 3 completed threads with characters outside of their relationship. For example a thread with a friend, family member, or an enemy. In addition to a character’s individual thread requirements, the couple will need 3 completed threads together that each have at least 6 posts between them interacting with each other.[break]
These threads cannot already have been used to fill a requirement such as earning a stat, ranking up to become a warrior, or a previous litter.

Members can work on individual requirements and couple requirements for a litter at the same time and in any order. But all threads must be completed at the time of officially requesting the litter.[break]

For couples to request additional litters, all thread requirements must be completed again with newly unredeemed threads. Kits from any previous litters must be at least 6 moons old.[break]

For non-hetero cats requesting a litter, an unnamed NPC queen will give her kits to the couple to raise as their own. The NPC litter will have randomized genetics and size.[break]

Unless a custom litter prize is being used, all litters are subject to stillborn rates for each kit depending on the season.[break]
Newleaf: 20% chance kit is stillborn
Greenleaf: 10% chance kit is stillborn
Leaf-fall: 30% chance kit is stillborn
Leaf-bare: 40% chance kit is stillborn
An additional 10% may be added during times of extreme hardships or natural disasters due to events occuring in a specific clan.
Once requirements for the litter are met use the litter request form to create a thread in this board. Thread titles should look like:
Litter Request: Character 1 Name x Character 2 Name[break]

Once the thread has been posted with the litter form completely filled out, please submit to the #maintenance-requests channel in the discord. From there, a staff member will perform the litter roll for the kit appearances. [break]

After the litter has been officially generated by staff, parents can name the kits, choose faceclaims, and put them up for adoption in the adoption board. Both members must be involved in the process of putting the kits up to be adopted by other members.[break]
Litter adoption threads should contain any adoption rules, litter context of at least a paragraph, and thread ideas.

Parent roleplayers may choose to adopt a kit from their own litter and have first choice on doing so. From there, parents must decide who can adopt their kits based on who applied according to the adoption rules they established.[break]

Kits are born one month after the litter has been rolled. Only once 2 weeks have passed from the date of birth, can kits can be roleplayed and start out at 1 moon old. [break]

Kits who remain unadopted past the litter's playable date will have their fate decided by the parents on whether they were stillborn, never existed, death by illness, or another IC fate.[break]
Custom litters can be earned through contests or events. Only one parent has to have a custom litter, but once used another must be earned for future litters.[break]

A custom litter allows members to customize the litter size, gender of kits, coats, and eye colors of kits. As long as the customization is genetically possible between the parents.[break]
Also protects a litter from seasonal stillborn rates.
Members can only give the kits a rare trait if a parent carries the trait or an additional rare trait prize is used with the custom litter prize.

Members can choose to still randomize parts of a litter such as customizing size, coats, and eye colors to their liking but leaving kit genders up to genetic chance. [break]

Members must use a separate form for the custom litter when creating their request thread and follow all other rules of the litter process.[break]

Once kits have been finalized by staff according to the custom litter form, members can post them up for adoption in the adoption board.[break]
